From 8 April 2024, in addition to Dublin residents, Immigration Service Delivery of my Department assumed responsibility for registration of individuals residing in counties Kildare, Meath, and Wicklow from An Garda Síochána.

The case referred to by the Deputy was processed prior to this assumption of responsibility.

I have looked into the matter and can confirm that although the registration was processed, an Irish Residence Permit (IRP) card did not issue to the person at that time. This has now been rectified and an IRP card will be delivered to the address provided at registration very shortly.

Queries in relation to the status of individual immigration cases may be made directly to my Department by email using the Oireachtas Mail facility at IMOireachtasMail@justice.ie, which has been specifically established for this purpose. This service enables up to date information on such cases to be obtained without the need to seek information by way of the Parliamentary Question process. The Deputy may consider using the email service except in cases where the response is, in the Deputy's view, inadequate or too long awaited.
