From 5 p.m. on Friday, 22 September, members of the public could see a different side to Leinster House when it opened its doors as part of the 18th edition of Culture Night.

Members of the public took part in tours conducted in both English and Irish, with Irish Sign Language as an option if required.

Musical entertainment was provided by members of Comhaltas Ceoltóirí Eireann, the Rathfarnham Ukulele Group and St. Damian’s National School choir, along with Gloria, Dublin’s LGBT+ choir.

Leinster House is a jewel of Georgian Dublin and one of Ireland’s most culturally and socially significant buildings. It hosts the Houses of the Oireachtas as the seat of Ireland’s Parliament, and opening its doors on Culture night is an integral part of promoting civic engagement between the people and their parliamentary system.

Culture Night is an annual nationwide event in which arts and cultural organisations extend their opening hours and allow our inspiring buildings and cultural institutions to be seen in a different light.
