PAC calls for a banking inquiry

4 Jul 2012, 18:55

The Public Accounts Committee will tomorrow publish a Committee Report on the crisis in our domestic banking sector: an analysis and a framework for a banking inquiry.

The publication of the Report is seen as a necessary first step in having a public inquiry as it:

  • identifies a broad range of issues that should be the subject of an inquiry,
  • provides a roadmap to that inquiry in its recommendation on the scope of an inquiry and
  • outlines a legal framework which will enable the inquiry to proceed.

Chairman of the Committe John Mc Guinness TD and Members of the Committe will be available to answer questions on the Report.

Event:  Launch of PAC Report on the crisis in our domestic banking sector: an analysis and a framework for a banking inquiry
Location: A/V Room, Leinster House
Date: Thursday, 5 July 2012
