Acting Minister for Finance to address Committee on Housing & Homelessness

The Oireachtas Committee on Housing and Homelessness will meet tomorrow Thursday, 5th May 2016 at 10:30am in Committee Room 3, Leinster House.

4th May 2016

The schedule for the meeting is as follows:

Session A: 10.30 a.m.

Housing and Homelessness [Minister for Finance]

Session B: 2.00 p.m.

Housing and Homelessness [Representatives from the Banking and Payments Federation]

Session C: 3.00 p.m.

Housing and Homelessness [Representatives from the Irish League of Credit Unions]

Chairman of the Committee, John Curran, says, “Tomorrow’s meeting will focus on housing finance and the many issues surrounding this. Our meeting will begin with engagement from the acting Minister for Finance, Michael Noonan TD and will continue in the afternoon with representatives from the banking sector.”

“Likely topics include the mortgage arrears problem and rising rents. Economic evictions are a leading cause of homelessness, so Committee Members will be keen to engage constructively with our witnesses.”
