Legal issues around housing & homelessness to be explored at Committee

The Oireachtas Committee on Housing and Homelessness will meet tomorrow Tuesday, 10th May 2016 at 10:30am in Committee Room 3, Leinster House.

The schedule for the meeting is as follows:

Session A: 10.30 a.m.

Housing and Homelessness [Mr. Edmund Honohan, Master of the High Court]

Session B: 11.30 a.m.

Housing and Homelessness [Ms Clare Naughton, Human Rights Committee of the Law Society of Ireland, Mr Patrick Sweetman, Conveyancing Committee of the Law Society of Ireland]

Session C: 2.00 p.m.

Housing and Homelessness [Professor PJ Drudy, Trinity College Dublin]

Session D: 3.00 p.m.

Housing and Homelessness [Mercy Law Resource Centre]

Chairman of the Committee, John Curran, says, “Master of the High Court, Edmund Honohan, will open our meeting tomorrow. He has been vocal about his views as to how the State could address the housing problem nationally; something our Members will be keen for him to expand on.”

“In the afternoon, we will also hear from other experts and academics who will brief us on the legal and procedural issues surrounding the housing and homelessness crisis. “
