Irish Language Committee to discuss the work of the Fulbright Programme

The work of the Fulbright Programme will be on the agenda of the Joint Committee on the Irish Language, the Gaeltacht and the Islands at its meeting on Tuesday, 25 September 2018.

 

Committee Chair Catherine Connolly said: “The Fulbright Commission in Ireland annually awards grants for Irish citizens to study, research, or teach in the USA and for Americans to do the same in Ireland. Since its formation over 2,000 postgraduate students, scholars, professionals, and teachers have participated in the program between the U.S. and Ireland. At our meeting we will discuss the programme in greater detail and the opportunities it offers for Irish speakers.”

This meeting will take place at 4pm on Tuesday, 25 September2018 in Committee Room 4, Leinster House. Committee proceedings can be viewed live here.
