Justice Committee to scrutinise general scheme of Sex Offenders Bill, consider Sex Offenders PMB

The Joint Committee on Justice and Equality will consider the Sex Offenders (Amendment) Bill 2018, a Private Members Bill, and conduct pre-legislative scrutiny of the general scheme of the Government’s proposed Sex Offenders (Amendment) Bill on Wednesday, Nov. 28, at 9 a.m.

Scheduled witnesses include

  • Maureen O’Sullivan TD, sponsor of the Sex Offenders (Amendment) Bill 2018;
  • University of Limerick law lecturer Dr. Margaret Fitzgerald O’Reilly, and
  • Representatives from the Probation Service, Rape Crisis Network Ireland and the Police Service of Northern Ireland.
