asked the Minister for Health if he will state in respect of public institutions in Louth, Meath, Westmeath, Kildare, Cavan and Monaghan (1) the weekly cost of food for an inmate, and (2) the weekly cost of clothing.
Written Answers. - Cost of Maintenance in Public Institutions: Leinster and Ulster Counties.
I presume the question has reference to persons who are provided with clothing as part of their institutional accommodation. The institutions concerned are County Homes, or Hospitals accommodating persons primarily in need of shelter and maintenance, and Mental Hospitals. The latest year for which figures are available in my Department is 1957/58, and the information is contained in the following table:—
TABLE showing weekly cost of (a) Food and (b) Clothing and Bedding of inmates of certain institutions in 1957-58.
