213 Mr. J. Bruton asked the Minister for Education if she favours the introduction of team teaching in national schools; and if she will examine the feasibility of adopting the recently adopted Italian system of three teachers for every two classes.

My Department examined the feasibility of introducing the team teaching system in national schools a number of years ago but considered that the co-operative teaching system was more suitable. This system is in operation in a number of schools at present.
