Vol. 268 No. 13

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Dublin Hospital Property.

9.

asked the Minister for Health if his permission was sought by the board of a Dublin hospital (name supplied) before the recent disposal of some of its property.

The board of the hospital referred to did not seek my approval before disposing of the property in question, nor was my approval necessary.

Does the Parliamentary Secretary not consider it undesirable that people can acquire property from a charitable institution such as in this case and then decide to increase the rents of the old people living there? The Government have taken no action in the matter.

I am sure both the Deputy and the House will agree with me that since my approval was not necessary it would not be prudent for us to discuss the matter in public.
