asked the Minister for Local Government if he will state the present position of the occupants of the houses under the control of the Soldiers' and Sailors' Land Trust and whether the agreement made between the British and Irish Governments has been implemented; and, if not, when it may be expected to be.

No action remains to be taken by the Irish Government in this matter at present. The proposals involve legislation by the British Parliament. The necessity for early implementation of the agreement has been indicated to the British Government.
