Of the 84 members of the two Radio Éireann orchestras 60 are Irish citizens and 24 are non-nationals. Of the latter 15 have quasi-permanent appointments and were appointed at various dates between 1948 and 1951. Nine were appointed in 1952 and have been employed on short-term engagements.
