I have recently approved the council's preliminary proposals for the Lough Egish, Ballybay and Aughnamullen water supply scheme which will serve the Ballybay area. The further planning of the scheme is now a matter for the local authority. Contract documents for the mechanical plant contract of the Ballybay sewerage scheme are at present under consideration in my Department and contract documents for the civil works contract are, I understand, in the course of preparation.
