asked the Minister for the Environment the reason for the delay in the payment of a solid fuel conversion grant to a person (details supplied) in County Waterford where inspection was carried out some time ago, and when payment will issue.

The delay in payment of the grant in this case was due to administrative problems created by the large volume of grant applications and correspondence received following the announcement of the termination of house improvement grants. Payment will be made shortly.

asked the Minister for the Environment the reason for the delay in the payment of a new house grant to a person (details supplied) in County Waterford, the house having been occupied since June 1979, and when payment will issue.

The file in this case is with my Department's inspector for a report. Any delay that has arisen is due to the unprecedented number of grant applications received in my Department earlier this year.
