: I informed the Mid-Western Health Board on 7 October 1980 that I had approved of the board's proposal for the provision of the proposed maternity unit at Nenagh County Hospital. The board was requested to submit proposals to my Department regarding the bed numbers and facilities required for the unit so that the position regarding the commencement of the planning of the unit can be considered.
The matter will be considered by the health board at its next meeting on 7 November.
