Vol. 369 No. 8

Written Answers. - County Dublin Garda Stations.

38.

asked the Minister for Finance if he is aware of the substandard conditions in (a) Cabinteely and (b) Kill-o-the-Grange garda stations, County Dublin; and the action, if any, he intends taking in the matter.

(a) The Commissioners of Public Works recently completed certain internal works at Cabinteely Garda station. Plans have been prepared for additional internal works. Works carried out at the station and future works planned were requested by the Garda authorities. The authorities are currently satisfied with the general standard of accommodation at the station. The future works planned are expected to be undertaken early in the new year.

(b) The accommodation of Kill-o-the-Grange station is inadequate to cater for Garda requirements. Improved accommodation will have to be provided by construction of an extension on the existing site or acquisition of an alternative site and provision of a new building. The question as to how best this accommodation can be provided is being examined.
