asked the Minister for Education if her attention has been drawn to the need for the provision of extra accommodation at Confey College, Leixlip, County Kildare; the total accommodation requirement at this school for September 1988; if she will ensure that this requirement is met by September 1988; and if she will make a statement on the matter, including the extent of the finance required for this purpose.

I propose to take Questions Nos. 195 and 196 together.
My Department have approved the provision of a new school at Confey, Leixlip, County Kildare. Pending construction of the new buildings, the school is being housed in temporary accommodation.
Arrangements are being made at present to provide additional accommodation for the expected intake of 64 extra pupils in September 1988. The precise cost of this provision is not yet available.
It is anticipated that 75 additional pupils will be enrolled in the school in September 1989.
