The information sought by the Deputy in relation to temporary release orders and full temporary release orders made in respect of prisoners for the years 1985 and 1986 is contained in the annual report on Prisons and Places of Detention for those years. The 1987 report is currently being compiled. It would not be possible to compile the statistics in relation to the number of temporary release orders made by reference to the length of sentences without the expenditure of a disproportionate amount of staff time.
