Ceist:153 Mr. Crowley asked the Minister for Education if she will now confirm that four teachers will be retained in Rathcoole primary school, Mallow, County Cork.
Written Answers. - Mallow (Cork) School Staffing.
As the Deputy will be aware, there is an agreement between the Government and the INTO regarding the staffing of national schools. The staffing for a particular school is determined by the enrolment in the school on 30 September of the previous year.
As this school had an enrolment of 98 pupils on 30 September 1990, the authorised staffing of the school for the 1991-92 school year is principal and three assistants.
I am pleased to say that under the above agreement on staffing four teachers will be retained in Scoil Brendan Naofa, Rathcoole, Mallow for the 1991-92 school year.
