Limerick East): I have no plans to amend the Misuse of Drugs Acts, 1977 and 1984 in so far as relaxing controls on drugs is concerned. It will be necessary from time to time to amend the Schedules to the Acts to include certain substances which come under international control. These amendments usually arise as a consequence of Ireland being a party to various international conventions on the control of drugs.
