Vol. 479 No. 2

Written Answers. - Suckler Cow Quota.

Joe Walsh

Ceist:

321 Mr. J. Walsh asked the Minister for Agriculture, Food and Forestry if he will approve an application under the 1997 suckler cow quota reserve for a person (details supplied) in County Cork. [12554/97]

One of the conditions applying to the distribution of quota from the 1997 national reserve is that the gross income of the applicant, including that of the spouse-partner, must not exceed £16,472. The gross income is taken as the total income from all sources before any deductions are made.

Accounts submitted by the person named show that her husband's gross income was £34,710.

As this exceeds the permitted limit, the person named does not qualify for an allocation of quota from this reserve.
