340 Mr. Sargent asked the Minister for Agriculture, Food and Forestry the six projects which have been chosen to be grant-aided under the scheme for pilot projects for the disposal of farm wastes being operated under the Operational Programme for Agriculture, Rural Development and Forestry, 1994-99; and the deadline for selection of the six projects if they have not been chosen yet. There were ten initial inquiries regarding the scheme to grant aid pilot projects for the disposal of farm wastes. My Department requested detailed submissions from the applicants and to date five have replied. Approval has issued in respect of one case in County Kilkenny. The other four cases are being examined and additional material may be sought.
There have been a number of new inquiries recently and these will be evaluated on a similar basis.
As this is a pilot project there is no closing date or deadline for final decisions.
