223 Cecilia Keaveney asked the Minister for Tourism, Sport and Recreation the position in relation to an application for approval for a sports grant for a club (details supplied) in County Donegal; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [2821/00]
A grant of £75,000 was allocated to the club referred to by the Deputy under the 1999 sports capital programme. In line with standard procedures, the club is required to submit to my Department for approval specific documentation and information confirming that the proposed development complies with the terms and conditions of the programme. My Department has notified the club of the documentation which is outstanding and when this has been submitted and found to be in order, the grant will be confirmed. Payment of the grant will be made on receipt of certificates of payment from contractors or consultants in respect of work done on the project.
