Written Answers. - Public Private Partnerships.

Denis Naughten

Ceist:

204 Mr. Naughten asked the Minister for the Marine and Natural Resources the legislation which is required to be introduced to implement public private partnership projects under the national development plan which come under his departmental control; when he will publish any such legislation; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [26879/00]

Ceist:

205 Mr. Naughten asked the Minister for the Marine and Natural Resources if his Department has a public private partnership section; the number of staff allocated to this section; the specific projects being dealt with by this section; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [26894/00]

I propose to take Questions Nos. 204 and 205 together.

The Department is currently addressing whether there is a case for public investment in certain areas being progressed on a public private partnership basis. The need for a specific shift unit or new legislation has yet to be determined.
