812 Mr. Quinn asked the Minister for Communications, Marine and Natural Resources if he will report on progress towards ratification of the European Convention on Transfrontier Television; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [16115/02]
The Euro pean Convention on Transfrontier Television facilitates the transmission and retransmission of television programme services across signature parties' national boundaries based on standards and criteria laid down in the convention. Officials of my Department are at present liaising with officials of the Department of Foreign Affairs in relation to ratification of the convention.
