220 Mr. Stagg asked the Minister for Education and Science the required refurbishment works and additional facilities as outlined in the application for grant aid sought by the Salesian college authorities, Celbridge, County Kildare; if he will approve the works; and if he will make a statement on the matter. My Department has an extensive post primary schools building programme under way at present with a substantial financial commitment carried over into 2003. The question of allowing additional projects into architectural planning is being considered having regard to the allocation for capital projects recently announced in the Estimates for 2003, existing commitments and priority afforded to each individual project. The management authorities of the Salesian college, Celbridge, County Kildare have applied for funding toward a major scheme of improvement works and extra accommodation. A decision regarding this application will be made as soon as possible in the light of the factors as outlined.
