Written Answers. - Departmental Expenditure.

Ciarán Cuffe

Ceist:

370 Mr. Cuffe asked the Minister for Justice, Equality and Law Reform the quantity and cost of stationery used by his Department every year; and the proportion of that stationery which is recycled paper. [2509/03]

I can inform the Deputy that the quantity of stationery paper used in my Department's head office for the year ending December 2002 was 10,495 reams. There are 500 pages in a ream. I can also inform the Deputy that the total figure paid for stationery-printing supplies for the year ending December 2002, which relates to my Department's head office only, was €17,406.26. The figure quoted includes printing supplies and all other stationery items. I am also informed by the company which supply the stationery paper to my Department that this paper is classed as business type, that it is made using the forest control method and that it is made from 100% pulp with chlorine free bleach.
