Vol. 571 No. 4

Written Answers. - Health Board Services.

John McGuinness

Ceist:

401 Mr. McGuinness asked the Minister for Health and Children the reason for the delay in arranging a bladder operation for a person (details supplied) in County Kilkenny at Beaumount Hospital, Dublin; the further reason arrangements were made and then postponed; if the operation and treatment will be expedited; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [21924/03]

The provision of services for people living in County Kilkenny is a matter for the South-Eastern Health Board. My Department has asked the chief executive officer of the board to investigate the matter raised by the Deputy and to reply directly to him.

Ceist:

402 Mr. McGuinness asked the Minister for Health and Children if full time care will be provided at St. Columba's Hospital, Thomastown, Kilkenny, for a person (details supplied) in County Kilkenny; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [21925/03]

As the Deputy will be aware, the responsibility for the provision of health services in the Kilkenny area rests with the South-Eastern Health Board. My Department has, therefore, asked the chief executive officer of the board to investigate the matter raised by the Deputy and reply direct to him, as a matter of urgency.
