195 Deputy Lucinda Creighton asked the Minister for Health and Children if she will provide in tabular form the number of freedom of information requests that have been received by her Department each year since 1997; and if she will make a statement on the matter. [6950/08]
Amharc ar fhreagraThe Freedom of Information Act 1997 came into effect on 21 April 1998 for Government Departments and Offices. Therefore, 1998 is the first year for which information is available in respect of the information sought by the Deputy. The published figures in respect of the number of Freedom of Information requests received in my Department for the years 1998 to 2007 inclusive are tabulated as follows.
