Other savings amounting to €12.2million, not proposed by the Special Group, were also included in my Department's current Estimate for 2010, bringing the total underlying current expenditure reduction for the year to €60.3million. The Report's other recommendations on additional non-revenue reduction measures and organisational restructuring are under continuing consideration within my Department at present.

In relation to Agency rationalisation, I have established a High Level Steering Group to make recommendations on how to implement the Railway Procurement Agency (RPA)/ National Roads Authority (NRA) merger. It is also planned to have an amalgamated accident investigation body in operation on an administrative basis before the end of 2010.
