243 Deputy Noel J. Coonan asked the Minister for Health and Children the average length of time it takes for a decision to be made on a medical card application; the number of medical card applications currently awaiting processing; the number of these that are from North Tipperary; and if she will make a statement on the matter. As the information sought by the Deputy is not provided by the Health Service Executive to my Department as a matter of routine, my Department has requested the Parliamentary Affairs Division of the Executive to arrange to address this matter and to have a reply issued directly to the Deputy.
