Deputy Claire Kerrane asked the Minister for Children, Equality, Disability, Integration and Youth the reason that there have been delays in IPAS accommodation payments to a business (details supplied); the action that is being taken to prevent delays such as this; and if he will make a statement on the matter. Amharc ar fhreagraI am advised by my officials that this provider’s payment is in hand and will issue shortly. My Department is contacting the provider to offer reassurance.
I very much regret any delays experienced by providers in securing payment, which is due to the extraordinary volume of invoices being processed in the context of the number of Beneficiaries of Temporary Protection being accommodated. I have assigned additional resources to clear the backlog.
