22 Aib 2024, 15:45

The Joint Committee on Environment and Climate Action will meet tomorrow, Tuesday, 23 April, to discuss the findings of Ireland’s Climate Change Assessment Report with the authors of the report.

Ahead of the meeting at 11am in Committee Room 3 of Leinster House, Committee Cathaoirleach Deputy Brian Leddin said: “The Climate Change Assessment Report for the first time provides a comprehensive and authoritative assessment of the state of knowledge around all key aspects of climate change, focussing on Ireland. The authors of the report come from across Irish academia and brought a wealth of experience and insights to their work. The Committee welcomes this engagement with the report’s authors and looks forward to a wide-ranging briefing and discussion on their valuable research into how climate change affects Ireland.”

The Joint Committee on Environment and Climate Action has 14 Members, nine from the Dáil and five from the Seanad.

The meeting in Committee Room 3 can be viewed live on Oireachtas TV.

Committee proceedings can also be viewed on the Houses of the Oireachtas Smartphone App, available for Apple and Android devices.
