Joint Committee on Finance, Public Expenditure and Reform, and Taoiseach to resume discussions on Issues Related to Defective Concrete Blocks

The Joint Committee on Finance, Public Expenditure and Reform, and Taoiseach will meet tomorrow, Wednesday, May 8, to discuss Issues Related to Defective Concrete Blocks with officials from the Department of Finance and the Department of Housing, Local Government and Heritage, and representatives from the Central Bank of Ireland.

Speaking ahead of the meeting at 1.30pm in Committee Room 3 of Leinster House Committee Cathaoirleach Deputy John McGuinness said: “The Committee continues to examine mortgage-related issues faced by homeowners impacted by defective concrete blocks.

“Members looks forward to discussing mortgage and bank financing, the treatment of affected mortgage holders and related matters with officials from the Departments of Finance and Housing and representatives of the Central Bank, which is the regulator of the banking and mortgage sectors.”

The Joint Committee on Finance, Public Expenditure and Reform, and Taoiseach has 14 Members, nine from the Dáil and five from the Seanad.
