Vol. 201 No. 8

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Tullamore Bog Drain.

17.

asked the Minister for Finance if he will take steps to have deepened and widened the main bog drain in Clonminch Bog, Tullamore, Offaly, from the Glosh drain to Mr. V. Bagnall's turf bank, north to John Coughlan's house and the other turf bank east of it, as there are 21 turf cutters who require to have this urgent work carried out; if he is aware that the present year's turfcutting will be severely affected unless this work is undertaken without delay; and if he will cause immediate inquiries to be made in the matter, and have a grant made available.

The last application for the improvement of this drain was dated 30th March, 1953. I am prepared to accept the Deputy's question as a further proposal and shall have the matter examined.
