Vol. 321 No. 6

Written Answers. - Croom (Limerick) Hospital Facilities.

354.

asked the Minister for Health if he will sanction, as a matter of urgency, the tender, submitted three months ago by the Mid-Western Health Board, for the construction of additional operating theatre facilities at the orthopaedic hospital, Croom, County Limerick, in view of the regional waiting list of 200 people for treatment at this hospital.

My Department are at present in consultation with the Mid-Western Health Board regarding clarification of some issues in relation to the tenders obtained for the scheme to provide a new theatre suite at the Regional Orthopaedic Hospital, Croom. When these have been resolved I will consider the question of the acceptance of a tender having regard to the constraints on public spending in the current year.
