Limerick East): The Garda authorities have informed me that they have no evidence, whether deriving from complaints or otherwise, that illegal money-lending has increased during the past 12 months. If, however, any evidence is brought to their attention they will take appropriate action including, if the evidence is sufficient, criminal proceedings. Accordingly, if the Deputy has any particular case in mind I would invite him to bring it to the notice of the local Garda.
