The Dáil and Seanad will today mark the 22nd anniversary of the Srebrenica massacre. Members of the Seanad will table a motion on the Srebrenica massacre at 4.45 pm and there will be statements in the Dáil at 6.05 pm.
“Today the Dáil will mark the anniversary of the mass killing of thousands of Muslims by Bosnian Serb forces during the Yugoslavian civil war,” said Ceann Comhairle, Seán Ó Fearghaíl TD. “The genocide that took place in Srebrenica will be remembered as one of the worst atrocities to ever take place in Europe.”
Members of the Remembering Srebrenica organisation will attend the debates.
The debates will be televised live on Oireachtas TV.
