asked the Minister for the Environment the up-to-date position regarding the proposed sewerage schemes for Quin and other villages in County Clare.

The following is the position regarding village sewerage schemes in County Clare for which proposals have been submitted to my Department.

Having regard to the need to conserve available capital for schemes of higher priority such as the Ennistymon/Lahinch/Liscannor and the Kildysart/Labasheeda water supply scheme and the Ennis main drainage scheme, it is not possible to indicate when decisions can be conveyed to the local authority on the schemes for which contract documents and preliminary reports are under consideration in the Department.
