The applications made by housing authorities for funds to commence new work before the 31 July 1980, are being examined in my Department. I cannot say when I will be in position to make decisions on these applications.
Notes:
1. Dublin Corporation and Dublin County Council sought £37,389,000 and £15,559,105 respectively to meet expenditure in 1979 on commitments and for new works to be started in that year. The overall allocations notified to cover both commitments and new works were as follows:—
Dublin Corporation, £30,000,000; Dublin County Council, £10,500.
In 1980 the corresponding amounts sought by the two authorities were £47,003,000 and £20,980,432 respectively.
The overall allocations notified were as follows:—
Dublin Corporation, £32,000,000; Dublin County Council, £11,150.
2. Commitments allocations notified to housing authorities on 14 February 1979 and on 14 March 1980 provided for expenditure in both those years on schemes contractually committed in 1978 and 1979 respectively but not started until 1979 or 1980.
