asked the Minister for Transport the date of withdrawal by Aer Lingus of services to Leeds and Bradford in the United Kingdom; and the effects of the withdrawal on the finances of Aer Lingus.

Aer Lingus withdrew services to Leeds and Bradford on 31 March 1979.
The route was uneconomic and the withdrawal was part of a comprehensive plan to re-align services on cross-Channel and continental routes. The overall effect of this re-alignment was an improvement in the company's finances. It is not possible, however, to put a specific figure on the savings from a particular route as costs are allocated over the complete range of routes.
