asked the Minister for Agriculture his estimate of the trend in farm incomes, taking interest payments into account, in 1979 and the likely trend in 1980.

The most recent estimate of farm incomes for 1979 is £741 million. It is too early to give any firm estimate for 1980 but a figure of £800 million has been projected. No detailed data are available to enable interest payments on capital borrowed exclusively for agricultural purposes to be taken into account.
