asked the Minister for Defence whether his Department are responsible for the maintenance of roads on Bere Island, County Cork; and, if so, the amount spent for this purpose in 1980.
Written Answers. - Bere Island (County Cork) Road Maintenance.
277.
My Department's property on Bere Island includes a number of roads which are repaired as necessary from time to time. The amount spent on their maintenance in 1980 was £1,040. Military use of the roads is very limited as troops are not stationed on the Island.
Certain other roads on the island are the responsibility of Cork County Council.
