Vol. 368 No. 1

Written Answers. - Carlow Community Care Offices.

103.

andMr. Nolan asked the Minister for Health when sanction will be forthcoming for the first phase of the new community care offices in Carlow town, in view of the fact that the existing accommodation must be demolished in the immediate future in order to facilitate the completion of the new geriatric hospital in the town; and if he will make a statement on the matter because of the urgency of the situation.

Tenders for the provision of new community care offices in Carlow town have been received and my Department is currently considering the report on these tenders which has been submitted by the South-Eastern Health Board. When this report has been fully assessed, the question of allowing the project to proceed to contract stage will be considered in the context of all the other competing demands for capital funds.
