Ceist:43 Mr. Gregory asked the Tánaiste and Minister for Foreign Affairs if he will have arrangements made with the German authorities to allow a prisoner (details supplied) to attend the funeral of his brother. [6423/95]
Written Answers. - Temporary Release of Prisoner.
On instructions from the Department, the Irish Embassy in Bonn raised with the appropriate German authorities the possibility of a temporary release of the prisoner in question for the purpose of attending his brother's funeral. I am informed that in the time available, and having regard to the fact that the trial of the prisoner concerned is still in progress, it did not prove possible to secure the agreement of the various authorities concerned for this purpose.
