Vol. 451 No. 2

Written Answers. - Tax Refund Query

John Browne

Ceist:

45 Mr. Browne (Carlow-Kilkenny) asked the Minister for Finance if a person (details supplied) in County Meath is entitled to a refund of tax in view of the fact that he was in his employment for 25 years and was made redundant on 3 January 1995; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [6270/95]

I have been advised by the Revenue Commissioners that the documentation necessary to determine if the taxpayer is entitled to backtax has not yet been received in the tax office. The taxpayer should be advised to submit his P45 with details of any benefit he may be in receipt of from the Department of Social Welfare to his inspector of taxes. Any tax overpaid will then be refunded without delay.
