Sections 107 and 108 of the Environmental Protection Agency Act, 1992, No. 7 of 1992, and regulations made thereunder, the Environmental Protection Agency Act, 1992 (Noise) Regulations, 1994 (S.I. No. 179 of 1994), provide local authorities with adequate powers to address problems of noise pollution. In addition, any person may seek an order in the District Court under section 108 of the Act to have noise, giving reasonable cause for annoyance, abated.
