86 Deputy Jim O’Keeffe asked the Minister for Transport the steps he has taken to ensure that the 33 agencies and bodies operating under the aegis of his Department perform in the most efficient and cost effective manner possible and that they provide value for money for the tax payer; and if he will make a statement on the matter. There is a wide range of oversight mechanisms and reporting arrangements in place to ensure that the agencies and bodies under the aegis of my Department operate efficiently and cost-effectively. It is not possible to have the details of these collated at the present time due to industrial action.
