The Joint Committee on Foreign Affairs and Defence will meet on Tuesday, October 18th with representatives from Justice for Colombia.
The meeting will take place in Committee Room 2 of Leinster House between 15:15-18:15.
Hasan Dowdell and Niall Finn from Justice for Colombia will address the meeting.
Justice for Colombia is an Irish and British organisation founded in 2002 in response to the high levels of violence against trade unionists, human rights defenders and community activists in Colombia.
Speaking ahead of the meeting, Committee Cathaoirleach Deputy Charlie Flanagan said: “We look forward to hearing from representatives from Justice for Colombia - an organisation that works with parliamentarians in Ireland, Britain and the European Union to raise awareness and support for peace and human rights in Colombia."
“We welcome the opportunity to hear about progress that has been made since the 2016 Colombian Peace Agreement was ratified, the election of the new Colmobian President and the current challenges and issues in Colombia regarding human rights and peace.”
